What Parents Should Know
Parents need to know that "SOMETHING LIKE A PARTY" is a pretty clean song overall, revolving around the dance floor yet avoiding any questionable behavior or inappropriate language.

" Something Like a Party" is the debut single from the School Gyrls, a trio of 15-year-old singers who were discovered by comedian (and husband of Mariah Carey) Nick Cannon. Cannon also directed the Gyrls in an hour-long movie on Nickelodeon, where they got a boost from appearances by other hot young artists like Justin Bieber and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. The single itself is free of questionable content -- telling the tale of a girl who calls everybody out on the dance floor, in part so they can observe her awesome (albeit clean) moves.

In a sea full of synth-pop, it's hard for a single such as " Something Like a Party" to stand out. Britney Spears has already covered the Gyrls' schtick -- schoolgirl uniforms mixed with bubblegum pop -- while other current pop-oriented artists like Lady GaGa and Ke$ha are making more creative music.
