Music Review: That's So Raven Soundtrack
What Parents Should Know
Parents need to know that if you can stand all the
pseudo-cool Disney hype, this innocuous album is just plain
fun.
Families can talk about the awkward adjustments involved in
growing up, especially for child celebrities.
Raven (Raven-Symone) fans will get a lot of bang for the buck when they buy THAT'S SO RAVEN, which comes with a bonus DVD containing four music videos and15 very predictable tracks of prefab dance tunes. The child-star-turned-teen-queen gamely gives it her all on ambitious tunes such as "Supernatural" and "Shine." Other featured artists include Cheryl Lynn ("To Be Real"), Jesse McCartney ("Beautiful Soul"), Lindsay Lohan ("Ultimate"), and Des'ree ("You Gotta Be") alongside some classic disco hits, such as "Jungle Boogie" by Cool & The Gang, and "We Are Family," covered by Jump 5.
Unfortunately, this CD doesn't offer much music that's interesting. All in all it's safely innocuous, about as message-less as music gets, and ultimately somewhat pointless. But what the heck? It's also fun.
