What Parents Should Know
Parents need to know that this soundtrack includes nine
cute-as-pie songs with uplifting messages for young girls.
Families can talk about what it takes to push yourself to
achieve a goal.
All of the songs from the Disney Channel original movie GO FIGURE are delivered with the usual high Disney standards of production and musicianship and an inspirational girl-power message. High points are the title song, performed by Everlife; Raven-Symone's "Life Is Beautiful"; the dramatic "Crash Goes My World," performed exquisitely by Cadence Grace; and the delightful punk-infused "Greatest Day" by Bowling for Soup. Brie Larson's "neener neener" message and saucy vocal on "She Said" is another adorable contribution.
Eight of the nine energetic tracks feature female lead vocals, unusual for soundtrack compilations. Lyrics are upbeat, positive, and squeaky-clean. The arrangements are surprisingly powerful with strong rhythm tracks and crystal-clear vocals. Clearest of all is the message: "I can do anything, just watch me!" -- formulaic perhaps, but it's an important message that needs to reach a lot of young girls.
