What Parents Should Know
The players strut around after dunks and do foul hard, but
the play is no more violent than a "live" NBA game. The pace of
the game is way too fast to zero in on inside play, which
eliminates the presence of cheap shots and flying elbows.
Because this game is officially licensed by the NBA, all teams where authentic game jerseys. These are the same jerseys that yoll find for sale in just about every athletic apparel store.
Common Sense Media Review
Revamped and ready to entertain basketball fans of all ages,
NBA LIVE 2004 is the latest EA title to hit the market. The
2003 version was wildly popular, but the creators took the game
to another level with the 2004 edition.
Players now have the ability to easily maneuver every player on the court, including defensive players. No longer will the point guard be able to slash to the basket uncontested for an easy lay up. The added feature makes the game more realistic and just as exciting as the old version.
Like most EA titles, the game is realistic--right down to the authentic NBA jerseys. That may be the only potential negative, as this game will bring hours of gaming fun for children ages 6 and up. A variety of easy to learn game modes are available, making it great for even the youngest players. If you are new to the game, start inpractice mod. The slower beginner mode allows players to learn all of the skills they will need when they take on thebig boy in more advanced play modes.
Overall, you cat go wrong with this fast-paced, easy to learn gaming experience. Unless you consider thundering dunks violent, this game is a great choice for younger audiences.
