Parents need to know that there's no questionable content on
this cheerful movie soundtrack. Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and
their "dad" attack both beloved classics and current hits with
their unique signature sound. Most families will find Alvin's
mischievous antics -- inspiring the annoyed "Alllviinnnn"
response -- amusingly familiar.
Families can talk about why the Chipmunks have enjoyed a
50-year career while other pop acts have come and gone. How do
you think the characters' funny voices are created in the
recording studio? Do you know how to make your own voice sound
like one of the Chipmunks? Playing around with a digital sound

Who could have guessed that some silly backup vocals on a 1958 novelty hit would jump-start a 50-year pop music career? ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS have now delighted several generations of kids -- and their parents -- with goofball antics and squeaky self-expression. When the chipmunks hit the music scene back in the '50s, the originality of studio-altered voices alone was enough to charm the socks off listeners of all ages. But after so many years, its now the endearing, if predictable, characters that keep them popular.
