The Story: Edward Cullen is excruciatingly handsome, seductive, and a vampire. The 107-year-old lives with his family as a perpetual teenager, attending high school (again!) with his adoptive siblings in gloomy Forks, Washington and pretty much keeping to himself. All that changes when Bella Swan arrives at Forks High School and catches Edward's attention. Bella's scent overpowers Edward's vampire sensibilities, awakening his repressed nature (the Cullen family has adopted an animals-only regimen), and drawing him into a tug-of-war between his lust for blood and ... just plain lust. The two would-be lovers forge a complicated romance, a potentially fatal attraction that constantly puts Bella's life at risk.

Heads Up: For a movie about vampires, Twilight is surprisingly light on blood and violence. Most of the drama is a love story, and the action that there is is alluded to, rather than seen, such as a blurry encounter between vampire and deer (which may disturb animal lovers) and a meeting between an unfortunate human and three carnivorous bloodsuckers. The most violent episode occurs near the end. Those who've read the book, however, will be completely prepared for it since, with the exception of a fight scene, it plays almost identically to the print version. Except for a kiss, the relationship between Edward and Bella is primarily chaste, though the kiss takes place in Bella's bedroom and Bella appears to be only half-dressed.

The books are so much better than the movies. I'm not saying the movie was bad, but there was a lot of expectation and it didn't live up to mine. If I didn't have the books to compare it to, I would probably like it a lot more. It was a good movie by itself; the effects were really cool and the actors were well-picked. It's just not as good as the books.

LOVED IT!!!!!! I had to see it because I've heard nothing but good reviews about it. It turned out to be one of the best love stories I've ever seen. Naturally, the boyfriend was bored to tears with it because he said there wasn't enough action in it...LOL My kids and I both loved it though. And yeah, I have to admit...That Edward is definately a cutie pie! If only I was 10 years younger...*Sigh* (LOL)

My 11 year old went with her best friend and her dad and she just loved it. I had to laugh because she was so forthcoming in her feelings for "Edward" and how cute he is and so on. She just would not stop talking about it. She hasn't read the books, but I bought her one for Christmas, which, I'm sure will just thrill her to pieces. The strange thing about it was the other girls dad said he really liked the movie, at which I gave him that "huh? are you crazy" look, but instead I just said "oh,really?"
