With the recent release of Vicky Cristina Barcelona, the best-reviewed Woody Allen comedy in recent memory, Spanish actress Penelope Cruz may finally establish herself as a big box office draw on this side of the pond. A longtime favorite of art house director Pedro Almodóvar, Penelope first burst onto the domestic scene in then-boyfriend Tom Cruise's Vanilla Sky. Three years her junior, Monica Cruz is a dancer and Spanish television actress who attended Spain's Royal Academy of Dance to study traditional ballet and flamenco. Together the sisters have designed a collection for the clothing store Mango.
Penelope Cruz, on starting a family: "I want to have my own kids, but also adopt. For a while I've had the feeling that my life won't be complete if I don't adopt."
