The Story: Beyond-cute robot (Wall-E) does his duty, cleaning up an abused Earth and collecting mementos to fend off loneliness, 'til he falls head over wheels for a tempestuous, sleek beauty of a bot. That's just part of it. Wall-E travels to a cruise-ship in space -- where humans avoid eye contact in favor of messages from their corporate sponsors -- in pursuit of the girl he loves, only to shake things up a bit. This multi-genre (sci-fit, romantic comedy, parable, even musical) film unites a story and a lesson to be something wholly unique -- a lot like its lead (and, yes, beyond-cute) character.
Good If You Liked: E.T., Modern Times, Robots
Heads Up: Wall-E has multiple messages, and some of the lessons might zip right over very young kids' heads (though the 7- and 8-year-old sets seem about the right age to get the environmental cautions.) Also, the near-complete absence of dialogue might be difficult for some children to weather. As for weather, one of the film's most frightening moments involves a sudden raging dust storm on Earth. For kids in love with Wall-E's unadulterated cuteness, a scene where he and Eve are compacted by humongous, unhuggable versions of Wall-E in the bowels of the cruise ship may also be frightening.

Movie Review: Wall-E
My whole family just loves this movie!! Considering that there is not too much dialogue between the robots, it is still very entertaining throughout the whole movie. From my 16 year old to my 6 year old, not to mention the adults, it is a must-have movie in our houshold.

I was hugely disappointed in Disney/Pixar. They had my absolute trust when it comes to delivering a great story with a great moral for children to learn. My kids walked away thinking fat people are lazy coach potatoes. This came straight from their mouths. What I walked away from was way more and none positive. I really think this movie is one all adults should see but not for small children as they should walk away feeling empowered that there is something they can do to help this planet. Even the last seen made adult humans seem so stupid. Humanity in this movie came off as stupid and this is not the message for kids. It is a huge wake up call and really recommend it for adults but again not for kids. I am so upset with Disney/Pixar that I will not be able to have that trust in what they put out.The reviewers said it would go over there heads they were wrong. Please think twice before seeing this with your kids

We saw Wall E at a sneak preview, I have to say, it took a little convincing to take my 14 year old son because he felt it would be a "little kids movie" , if fact after the movie, he thanked me stating that it was a great movie and that he really enjoyed it. We all just absolutely loved it.
Hey, if a grumpy teenager liked it, then you know it's good.

This was my daughter's first movie in theaters, and I don't think we could have picked a better first movie. She fell in love with the character before the movie through the tv ads, and the movie was just excellent. There are so many little side stories and meanings going on. Just loved the movie, and we'll probably go back to see it again before it's out of theaters.

Great review of a great movie. Just saw it and as the review points out Wall-E works on a lot of levels and has something for everyone.

Sounds like another "homerun" for Pixar. I'm looking forward to taking the family to see Wall-E this weekend. Thanks for the review.
