Movie-going families have it good in the summertime -- especially this particular summer. For one (very big) thing, Indiana Jones is back after nearly 20 years. But there's more than the fedora-wearing adventurer to keep kids and families entertained this summer. Use our guide as an appetizer for treats yet to come and check back to watch trailers, read reviews and more.

June

"Kung-Fu Panda"

Opens: June 6
Rating: Not yet rated.
Why We Can't Wait: After all of May's action and adventure films, it'll be nice to kick off June with some laughs from the makers of "Shrek." As Po the Panda, the laziest animal in the Valley of Peace, Jack Black ("School of Rock") should be a treat, espeically alongside supporting cast members like Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, and Dustin Hoffman.

"Get Smart"

Opens: June 20
Rating: PG-13
Why We Can't Wait: Bumbling, clutzy, comical: Steve Carrell's first foray into "action" couldn't be better than the part of Agent 86 Maxwell Smart. The Rock is his superstar cohort, Agent 23, and Anne Hathaway ("The Princess Diaries") steps into the pumps of Agent 99.

"Wall-E"

Opens: June 27
Rating: Not yet rated.
Why We Can't Wait: For one, we at Family.com got a little sneak peek and loved it. For two, the big-eyed robot is so adorable, he's already inspiring birthday cakes! And, for three, Andrew Stanton -- the writer behind beloved Pixar flicks "Finding Nemo" and "Monsters, Inc." -- is the dreamer who came up with this futuristic tale.

Not mentioned is "Kit Kittredge, An American Girl" starring Abigail Breslin. It opens on July 2nd, my family has been counting down the days since last summer. You can watch the trailer at their official website http://www.americangirl.com/movie/
The first three American girl movies were made for TV. This is the first on the big screen. They are all well done and family friendly. So mark the date on your calendar. And thanks for the movie review of the other summer movies.
