My child went to Jurassicamp last summer and had a fantastic time. When I came to pick him up each day he did not want to leave. Now he says he wants to be a paleontologist and go back every summer to the Funcamps.
Some camps sound fun, but are not in our budget range. This year, I'm sending my 11-year-old to soccer and field hockey camp (they are no more than 3 or 4 days) and there's a performance art camp that a lot of my older girls' friends attend that I intend on looking into. These half-day, weekly camps really work well, for us. We live in New Jersey and are lucky enough to have a county park system that rocks!
Dinosaur came sounds so fun! I bet my son would love that when he gets older. Camp was a blast growing up - I can't believe my kids will be of that age in just a few more years.
If you didn't go to camp when you were growing up, you missed out on a quintessential childhood experience. I met one of my best friends at camp, and we're still friends more than 20 years later. Plus, it was my first experience being away from my parents for long stretches of time. Why is this not a West Coast institution as it is on the East Coast?
