How the Potential Winners Will Be Chosen
Editors' Choices
Family.com staff will select three (3) Editors' Choices potential Grand Prize winners (one from each category) on the basis of the following judging criteria:
- Relevance to subject. Make sure your entry clearly explains how you are helping save the Earth. The photo should help show us what you did, but don't worry if you can't recreate the action -- a picture of the people who did is great too!
- Ease of implementation. We want others to learn from you! Please tell us the steps needed to put your idea into action including any tools or costs that might be involved.
- Impact on the environment. Every idea helps -- even the little things -- when we all do them! So tell us how this can reduce our environmental footprint.
- Originality. Show us your creativity! What clever twists have you added to the usual recycling program or community project? Tell us how you are making a difference.
And don't forget to submit a great photo!
- Upload a horizontal picture with the subject nicely centered.
- Daytime/natural light is best
- If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio
- For best results, make your image 400x300 at 72 dpi
Voters' Choices
Family.com registered visitors can vote once a day on eligible entries to determine three (3) Voters' Choices potential First Prize winners. The three entries with the most valid votes will be the Voters' Choices for potential First Prize winners.
Editors' Choices will win $5,000 each and Voters' Choices will win $1,000 each. So get ready to reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle, and rebuild! Share with us what you're doing to make your life greener, and tell us how you did it!
