The Great Green Challenge
Here's My Great Green Idea!
Several years ago I started making and burning soy wax candles, a hobby evolved into a small craft business. I attempt to educate people on the toxins in parafin wax(by product of petroleum), as well as the soot that they produce. Soy wax is a natural renewable product, that burns cleaner, longer, retains it's scent and helps supports the American and Canadian Farmers. Petroleum is non-renewable, has at least 7 known toxins and does not support the economy of this country. Many people have come to us at shows throughout Florida thanking us for our efforts to educate people. People that have had to stop burning candles because of breathing difficulty or having to replace air conditioning units due to the soot build up, more and more a/c companies are starting to advise people to burn clean candles. In educating people and producing a clean burning candle I feel that we are trying to do our share to plan for a greener tomorrow.
