Here's My Great Green Idea!

At 10 years old I can outgrow a pair of shoes quicker than you can say "Jiminy Cricket". So this past school year, rather than toss them in the trash where they would add to our already huge landfills, we decided to put some of those gently (and sometimes never) worn shoes on the feet of those who need them most. We started a collection at our school where families could deposit gently worn shoes including dance, athletic and boots. We bagged them, labeled them, and when all was said and done we had collected over 1200 pairs of shoes for our local homeless shelter "HomeFront". That's recycling at it's best!
