The Great Green Challenge

Here's My Great Green Idea!

Twice a year in the fall and spring I host a neighborhood plant exchange. I invite my neighbors to bring cuttings, bulbs, separated rhizomes, or other separated plants. Seeds, starts, pots, tools, garden art ect. in exhcange for anything of the like they may need. You bring something and you take something. I get conservation and recyling information from the city and local organizations that promote sustainable agriculture, and I make a share list for expensive garden equipment. Then the neighbors can sign up to co-op for something they may not use alot and is expensive, ex. a chipper shredder or rototiller. It is a great way to get neighbors communicating and create sustainable practices.
