Here's My Great Green Idea!

We only live 7 minutes walking time from our elementary school, but last year I drove my kids to and from school everyday! This year we comitted to walk everyday with our neighbor come rain or shine! We did pass on a few snowy cold days though! We bundle everybody up and off we go! We are quite the group walking to school, we call ourselves the "human bus" because we have 9 kids and two adults (and only 4 kids get dropped off at school)! I have a baby so we have a stroller in tow also! We have really enjoyed the friendship and gotten to know our neighborhood and neighbors better. Our kids are learning to stay on the sidewalk and cross the road correctly! We are getting good exercise, enjoying the change of seasons and I don't have to fill up my gas tank as much! The amount of gas I have saved is amazing! Just making one small change like a 7 minute walk instead of a 3 minute drive has made a big difference!
