The Great Green Challenge

Here's My Great Green Idea!

Sweat trickles down my skin as the sun radiates its heat throughout my sore body, each ray attempting to burn my flesh. I open the increasingly heavy plastic bag, labeled "Adopt-a-Highway" and drop yet another article of garbage into it, beautifying the historical Highway 83. As Student Council president, organizing these types of events is the norm; from planting trees to collecting trashwhich, in addition to creating a dilapidated appearance, harms the city's wildlifeI ensure that Student Council actively participates in events that aid in creating a Greener Earth. Additionally, in order to motivate members to partake in Adopt-a-Highway events, which entail walking along two miles of our city's highway to pick-up litter, I talk to others about the potential impact they can help make and treat participants to dinner and ice cream at one of our city's local restaurants after the event. Indeed, it is imperative to protect and help restore our home's wellbeing, in order to ensure a healthy Earth for the future.
