DeBass Recycling

Here's My Great Green Idea!
When my husband and I first moved to Dallas we quickly became frustrated by the lack of recycling resources. The nearest recycling drop-off location to our apartment was 15 miles away. To call it 'inconvenient' would be an understatement. We even went as far to call our local environmental waste division, and also spoke with one of the council members and still - no results. After 3 months of frustration and bags and bags of recycled goods growing in our storage room, we almost gave up. And then it hit us. If two people like us who were passionate about recycling almost gave up on recycling, we could only imagine how many other people felt the same way. With that, we formed DeBass Recycling. A company dedicated to making recycling easy for people that lived in apartments and condos. Our service provides consumers with a recycling
bucket and we pick it up from their doorstep every other week. When we began our business in 2005, we were picking up recyclables in our cars. With time, interest grew and we purchased a truck. To date, we have 16 customers. We know there's a need for this in Dallas, and with just a little bit of funding, we plan to increase our marketing and raise awareness of our services to more residents in Dallas.
