Here's My Great Green Idea!

I work at a green thinking company. We have a environmental team called BEAT (Barton Environmental Awareness Team). We have monthly meetings on recycling ideas. I noticed that we used a very large amount of alkaline batteries. These were being thrown into the trash. I knew that the batteries were going into the landfill and could be contaminating our ground water. I found a local battery store that would accept our used batteries and to recycle them. I presented the idea at our meeting and it was a welcomed green approach to disposing of the batteries. We set out containers to collect the used batteries and the workers at the plant put used ones in as well as bringing their used ones from home to be recycled. I now personally take the containers to the recycler. I feel very good to be helping in saving our planted from harmful pollutants.
