Here's My Great Green Idea!

The family-friendly "green idea" that we have recently started in our home is using cloth napkins. They are inexpensive to purchase (look for them on clearance at local department stores) and easy to use. We have a different color napkin ring for each member of the family and that way we can use them multiple times (until they are dirty) and then put them in the hamper to be washed with the bath towels (so they really don't make any extra laundry work either!). They make us feel a little "fancier" at our meals, clean up messes - like spilled milk - MUCH better, and are much more comfortable in wiping little ones' faces. Folding the clean/washed napkins is a good "starter" chore for my 5 year old to learn to do. On top of it all, we are saving LOTS of trees everyday by no longer using paper napkins! Try it out!
