Here's My Great Green Idea!
Last year my family (a spirited three year old, a feisty one year old, my husband and I) decided to make a green change every month. often, this meant taking a month to save, learn, or plan for a green change the following month. Our heads were quickly filling with so many ideas we couldnâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t keep up. It got to be too much for us. We couldnâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t decide what to tackle first, so instead we found ourselves doing nothing.
This year as a New YearâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s resolution we created a Green to Do List and Calendar. We write any green ideas we have on our list. Then we take ideas from the list and outline them on the calendar. This way all of our ideas get organized in a way that is not overwhelming to us. We are a lot more successful in accomplishing our green changes. For example we are making washable wipes. The first day weâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ll collect old clothes. On the second weâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ll cut squares. On the third weâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ll pin and sew the fabric. Finally weâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ll mix 4 parts water, 2 parts witch hazel, a few drops of tea tree or lavender oil, and the cloths. Voila! Washable wipes.
