Tell Your Baby Story
My dear middle child was born with hair that started standing up as early as a week old and stayed standing until she was over 5 months old. The longer it got, the funnier it was because it would stand straight up. People would often ask what I put in her hair to make it stand up-all natural, I would tell them. No matter what you did to her hair, wet it, brush it, put a bow in it, it would just stand up. While she was a baby, we didn't realize the extent to which her hair stood up; however, looking back on pictures, it is hard to believe that her hair was like that. It literally was like a "chia" pet except that the hair would grow vertical from the top and sides of her head. She had a Don King hairstyle. We were a bit sad when her hair started to fall because that hair became her trademark and made her very unique. Now that she is 3 years old, we can see that she has the personality to go with that hair. She is a very funny girl, full of personality. She is animated and her eyes seem to speak right along with her mouth. She has come a long way since the baby with the hair that stood straight up, because she used to never smile. People would try to make her laugh and she would lower her head, almost so her hair would point at them, and look up at them with her big eyes, no smile though. Nowadays, she laughs and plays with the best of them. She also takes her lead from her older sister who loves to mess with her own hair. Thus, my middle child has developed a fettish with her hair. She will put 5, sometimes more, different clips, bows, ponytail holders, in at one time. Luckily, she has got a head of hair tto support her fancy.
Contest Tips & Guidelines
- Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple - your baby is the star!
- Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
- Center your baby as best as possible in the photo as we will need to crop the image to a square for the site.
- Upload a horizontal or vertical photo. If you crop the image yourself, make sure you keep a square form.
- For best results, make your image 400 pixels x 400 pixels at 72 dpi (or "save for web").
- Tell your friends and family about your entry and tell them to vote for you! Post a link to your entry on your social networking sites, blogs, etc.
