Whimsical, abstract cake with the bottom layer tie-dyed and the top layer star decorated. Gerber daisies and Chinese grass add a unique flare.
- RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
-
- 4 white cake mixes prepared
- Double recipe of buttercream icing
- Food colors
- Fresh or silk gerber daisies
- Chinese grass
- Spray color glycerin
- Plastic wrap
- Sugar sprinkles
Use 14 inch cake pan greased and floured. Add 10 cups of batter and bake 55-60 minutes at 350. Cool in pan 20 minutes, then on a rack 1 hour. Ice with buttercream icing. Spray with multiple glycerin spray colors creating a patchy tie-dyed appearance. Transfer to large round serving plate. Bake batter in a flower shaped pan according to directions on cake pan. Cool the same as above cake. Transfer to 14 inch cake, centered. Using multiple colors ice using a star tip. I used pink, yellow and blue. Next spray with glycerin color spray lightly adding a glaze of color-yellow works nicely. Lightly sprinkle entire cake with sugar sprinkles. Cover stem of daisies with plastic wrap and insert them in the center of top layer flower cake. Also wrap bottom of Chinese grass in wrap and insert them randomly in the center of the top layer as well.
