For my son Brayden's 3rd Birthday he wanted a cake from his favorite show The Little Einsteins. I made him a cake shaped like Rocket with the whole gang, Annie, Leo, Quincey, and June in Rocket.

  • 2 Boxes of white cake mix
  • 3 cans of pre made vanilla frosting
  • 2lbs confectioners sugar
  • 16 oz mini marshmallows
  • red food coloring
  • blue food coloring2
  • yellow food coloring
  • 1 dum dum sucker
  • olive oil
  • eggs
  • water
  1. Mix both cake mixes according to box directions. Pour cake batter evenly between the following pans:

    2 9inch round
    3 9inch loaf pans
    1 mini loaf pan

Bake according to box directions making sure the cake is cooked (toothpick clean)

    Let cakes cool

  2. Once the cakes are completely cool you have to cut both round cakes in half. Place 1 of the loaf sized cakes in between one of the cut in half round cakes. This will make a large oval shape. Cover the top in frosting and repeat above steps with other round and loaf cake.

  3. You now have the base of Rocket formed. Place the last 9 inch loaf cake on Rocket to make the top part of her. cut the mini loaf pan cake in half to place one half on each side of the cake for Rocket's engine. Cover entire cake in frosting again.

  4. Pour marshmallows into microwave safe bowl and add 3 tablespoons of water then microwave for 45 seconds. It should look soupy

Pour marshmallows into a large mixing bowl and add confectioners sugar. Mix. This will make a marshmallow frosting that is pliable and almost a Play-Doh consistency. Take 3/4 of the dough and knead in red food coloring. Roll out dough thin and place over the entire cake. Knead yellow and blue food coloring into the remaining dough after splitting it into 2 balls. Roll out and cut out windows and lights. Add a little olive oil on back of pieces to secure to the cake.

Lightly rub cake with a very small amount of olive oil to make it a little brighter

  5. Cover Dum Dum with some leftover red dough frosting and attach to top of rocket

  6. Place stickers of Annie, Leo, June and Quincy onto the cake.
