The face of the mean, green fighting machine...the Incredible Hulk. A cake sure to win you MONSTER reviews!

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 cake boxes any choice flavor
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Fondant
  • Powdered sugar
  • Black edible spray paint
  • Green, yellow, and black food coloring
  • Round and Star tips
  • *Mini marshmallows if making homemade fondant (see below)
  1. Bake the two cake boxes according to the directions using an 11x15 baking pan. Let cool completely before decorating.

  2. Round edges of cake using a knife to shape top of head, cheeks, and chin.

  3. Ice the cake using buttercream frosting.

  4. (See steps #8-10 for making homemade fondant.) Tint fondant green if not homemade. Roll out fondant on flat, sugared surface into a long oval using a rolling pin. Make sure to move fondant frequently and apply sugar so it will not to stick to surface. Lay rolling pin on top at one end and roll fondant to the other end.

  5. From one end of the cake, unroll the fondant slowly so to unravel over the cake. Smooth the fondant using hands or small flat tool. Stretch and mold around corners to fit closely to the shape of the cake. Using a knife, cut around the edges of the cake and remove excess.

  6. Using a small round tip, pipe black buttercream to outline the facial features. Use a large star tip to make the hair. Fill in eyes with yellow buttercream. Lightly mist the edible spray paint to create shading, particularly around the eyes.

  7. Making Homemade Fondant: Pour bag of marshmallows into a microwave safe dish and sprinkle lightly with water. Microwave until the marshmallows puff up. (Approx. 1-2 minutes)

  8. Stir marshmallow mixture to smooth out any lumps. Add green food coloring and stir until desired color is achieved.

  9. Continuously scoop powdered sugar until the mixture is not tacky and able to be kneaded like dough. The fondant is then created. Cover fondant while not using so not to dry it out.
