Great Cake Contest

My son wanted a Shark Themed Swim party for his 8th Birthday. I came up with this fun cake to celebrate the occasion. The kids all loved it!

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

• 4 Cake mixes, any flavor
• Buttercream Icing
• Royal icing
• 1pkg. sugar cookie dough
• 2 cookie sticks
• Cake board
• 12x12 cake pan
• 1/2 ball cake pan
• 6oz package of Fondant, any color
• 1 plastic cake dowel

1. Bake a 12x12 square cake in any flavor.
   Bake a 1/2 ball cake for diver's head.

2. Roll cookie dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut 3-4 (to allow for breakage) sugar cookies in the shape of a shark fin. Poke 2-3 cookie sticks in the bottom and bake as directed.

3. Cover Shark fin in Gray Royal Icing. Ice rest of cake with buttercream icing colored in your choice of colors.

4. With Fondant roll out snake shape to form goggles of diver, Roll fondant 1/8" thick to cover dowel to make diver's snorkel.
