Only the boat is cake and frosting - sails are made from vellum, drinking straws and string. Flag is paper and toothpick.
- RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

- (1) box cake mix
- 1-2 cans of store bought vanilla (white)frosting
Bake cake in 13 x 9 pan as per box directions. Cool and freeze. Easier to cut when frozen. Color frosting to desired colors. Cut the cake in half length wise and stack with a frosting layer in between. Then cut around the corners a bit to resemble a boat. Use some of the excess to put on top to make the "cabin". Frost top half one color and bottom another. Then use icing in a pastry bag with a tip to make "waves" along the boat's bottom. Make the sail out of vellum, attach two straws with hot glue to form the mast and secure with some string by wrapping it around where they cross. Hot glue the vellum sails to the straw and insert in the cake. Add flag.
