A fun cake to celebrate winter. Ice cream cone trees, fondant penguins, and an easy to make igloo.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
  • 10 inch round cake any flavor
  • 4 sugar ice cream cones
  • 4 inch cake baked in a round bowl
  • buttercream frosting (white, green)
  • fondant (white, black, orange)
  • piping gel (blue)
  • paper towel roll
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Cut paper towel roll to 2 inches long. Cover with parchment paper (tape to keep in place). Roll out white fondant and form to the paper towel roll. Set aside and let dry for 4 days. This is the doorway to the igloo.

  2. Roll out white fondant and cut 1/2" strips. Then, cut 1/2"squares from those strips. Place squares on the igloo. Squares should be side by side, leaving no gaps. Place squares onto the doorway as well. Place ice cream cones onto the cake with buttercream. Using a #16 tip, pipe leaves onto the tree. Start at the bottom of the tree and work up, slightly overlapping.

  3. For penguins, roll black ball for head, and white cylinder shape for body. Use a small leaf cookie cutter for the wings, and oval shapes for the feet. Orange triangle shape for the beak, and small flattened circles for eyes.
Fill pond with blue piping gel.
Use orange and white fondant to form the fish.

Sprinkle trees, igloo and cake with powdered sugar for snow.
