This is a great cake for any kid that loves jungle animals. It has great animals, a water fall, trees, and vines.
- RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

- Two chocolate cake mixes (including ingredients to make cake mixes)
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder
- 8 cups powder sugar
- 8 Tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla flavoring
- Blue and Green food coloring (I prefer gel coloring)
- Leaf tip and small round decorating tip
- assortment of jungle animals and palm trees
- 2, 9" cake pans
- 2, 6" cake pans
Preheat oven to 350. Grease all cake pans. Follow the directions on the cake mix box to mix both cake mixes. Add 5 1/2 cups of batter into each 9" cake pan. Add 2 cups of batter into each 6" pan. Bake the 9" cakes for 30 - 35 minutes and bake the 6" cakes for 25 - 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely. For frosting combine the shortening and butter until smooth. Scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add the powdered sugar one cup at a time until all is combined. Add vanilla flavoring. Add the milk 1 Tbsp at the time. Remove two cups of frosting from the bowl. Now add the cocoa powder. Scraping down the sides of the bowl to make sure all is mixed. If icing is to dry and another Tbsp of milk and if it is to wet add more powdered sugar. With the reserved white frosting color 1 1-2 cups blue and color the rest green. Keep all frosting covered. Level off all four cakes by cutting the domes off the tops of the cakes. Start with the 9" cake. Frost a thin layer of frosting on the top and cover with remaing 9" cake. Frost the top of 9" cake and then center a 6" cake on top of that. Frost the top of this cake and then top with remaining 6" cake. Start with the blue frosting in the center of the top of the cake. Bring your water fall down all the way to the bottom of the cake. Now frost the entire cake with the chocolate frosting. Place your jungle animals where ever you would like, securing them with frosting under their feet. Put together a decorators bag with the small round tip. Fill with green frosting. Make your vines where you would like them to go. Now change the tip out with the leaf tip. Add leafs to your vines and around your animals feet and trees. Now you have an amazing jungle cake.
