A halloween cake topped with creepy spider. Pumpking (looking) cupcakes to match border of cake.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
  • Cakes and cupcakes are basic yellow butter cake recipe. Including butter, sugar, sifted cake flour, sugar. Frosting on all is a family buttercream frosting.
  • Spider is made from Rice Krispy treats with licorice antennae.
  1. Bake two 10" cakes and two 8" cakes along with 2 dozen cupcakes. Frost top of one 10" and one 8" cake. Top with other. Frost entire 10" cake. Place double 8" cake on top and frost (all in white (uncolored) buttercream). Make Rice Krispy treats (according to directions). Shape treats using wax paper for body and head of spider. Refrigerate.

  2. Color some frosting black. Make large web on top of cake and several smaller ones around cake. Make a few spiders with the black frosting around cake. Frost the Rice Krispy spider in black and stick in licorice. Place on top of cake.

  3. Color some frosting orange and a small amound green. Make the pumpkin border using a round (#4) tip. Use smaller round tip for stem. Frost cupcakes with flat tip (#47) to look like pumpkin and smaller round tip for stem.
