Great Cake Contest

Kids love Elmo, kids love cupcakes, there's no knife involved in serving it and you frost it like a sheet cake- perfect!

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

• *1 box cake mix, any flavor (or 24 made-from-scratch cupcakes)
• *2 containers white frosting (or enough for a 3 single-layer cakes)
• *red food coloring
• *1 tube black frosting
• *1 tube orange frosting

1. Bake cupcakes acording to package directions. Cool completely.

2. Place 22 cupcakes (as close together as possible) on serving board in the approximate shape of an oval. Place remaining 2 cupcakes at the top of the oval for eyes. (With the eyes on top and the entire creation frosted, the shape of the head is very forgiving!)

3. Frost two "eye" cupcakes white.

4. Tint remaining white frosting with red die and frost remaining cake red. Frosting will drip down between cupcakes, just put more on top until you have a fairly smooth surface.

5. Decorate eyes, nose & mouth by squeezing tubes of frosting on top of first layer of frosting.
