This was a 3 tier cake I made for my daughters 2nd birthday, which was on a farm.

  • cake mix with required ingredients
  • confec. sugar
  • butter
  • vanilla
  • milk
  • fondant
  • food coloring (gel)
  1. bake 2, 10' rounds, 2 8 " rounds and 2 6" rounds. Using two of each size makes each tier taller.
Make butter cream icing and ice between the layers. Then, ice each teir and let the butter cream set.

  2. Use one package of premade fondant. Use food coloring to color blue tier and red tier. You just knead the food coloring into the fondant and then roll it out pretty thin and cover the teirs. Cover the middle teir with white. Then, color the left over black, roll out and cut random shape cow spots. Place the bottom blue (denim) tier on covered cake board, then wrap with red check ribon to cover edges.

  3. Spread about 1/4 c butter cream on top of blue tier. Place cow spot tier on top. Repeat, to stick red tier on top of cow spot tier.

Color fondant brown and roll out two long pieces. Twist together like rope and then wrap aroun center and top tier to cover edges.

  4. decorate the top tier with black and white butter cream. Just pipe the design of a bandana.

Use left over fondant to make farm animals.

Use pre bought mini hay bales as accents. Carry all farm animals and hay bales seperately. Place on cake when it reaches destination.

Last... take MANY pictures before eating!
