This is good for 1, 2 or more babies for a Baby Shower, 1st Bday, etcetera. . . .

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 boxes of Duncan Hines Butter Recipe cake mix
  • 2 large circle pans
  • 2 small circle pans (1/2 size of large)
  • 2 large cans of Fluffy White frosting
  • red food coloring
  • yellow food coloring
  • icing bag(s) & round tip(s)
  • 1 box of vanilla wafers
  • gumballs
  • pacifier(s)
  • diaper pins
  1. Follow directions on cake mix (substitues milk for water and 1 stick of butter for oil).
Pour cake batter into pans (2/3 for large and 1/3 for small, per mix).
Bake according to instructions on box.

  2. After baking, let cakes cool.
When cool, arrange on base to look like a baby (or 2 or 3 or. . . .)

  3. Use red and yellow food coloring to dye 1 1/2 cans of frosting peach (or whatever complexion you choose).
Cover head and 2/3 of body with frosting.
Use what's left of white frosting to cover bottom 1/3 of body.
Use red food coloring to dye rest of 2nd can of frosting pink for cheeks (set aside).

  4. Take 1 wafer, cut in half & place on each side of head to make ears (if they start to droop, take a toothpick & place under cookie into head to help hold in place).
Next, take 2 wafers & position on head as cheeks.
Then take 2 wafers & positon on chest as hands.
Then take 2 more wafers & position them on bottom of diaper as feet.
Finally, take 1 vanilla wafer, cut in half & scrape with knife into a half moon shape to nestle on top of feet.

  5. If any of the wafer circles appear to be too big, scrape them down with a knife into smaller circles. It all depends on the size of your head and body and on the dimensions you want your baby to have.

  6. Place what is left of peach frosting (or color of choice) into an icing bag and cover ears, hands & feet (add fingers, toes, nose, bellybutton and a pointy tuft of hair to top of head). Use a very small frosting knife to help cover up any areas that need touching up.
Place pink frosting into an icing bag and cover cheeks.

  7. Add gumball eyes, pacifier & diaper pins.

  8. And, voila! Baby looks cute enough to eat! Enjoy!
