When I asked my daughter what type of cake she wanted for her 5th birthday, she replied "A Chocolate Wedding Cake!" So I thought I'd give it a try!
- RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
-
- 2 boxes chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on to make the cakes)
- 1 quart of chocolate better cream (not prepared - can be purchased at cake decorating stores)
- 1 bride/groom decoration plus any other wedding type decorations (artifical flowers, etc.)
Prepare both cake mixes as directed on box and divide among 3 cake pans (a 4-inch round, a 6-inch round, and an 8-inch round). Bake cakes in a 350 degree preheated oven. Check for doneness. About 20-25 minutes for 4-inch round, 25-30 minutes for 6-inch round and 30-35 minutes for 8-inch round. Let cakes cool completely and remove from pan. Mix better cream with an electric mixer as instructed on carton. (Tip: chill a glass bowl and your beaters before mixing). You're done when peaks form. Frost all 3 cakes separately reserving some frosting for decorating. Layer cakes largest on bottom to smallest on top. Place reserved frosting in a deorator bag with a wider type tip. Decorate with frosting making some columns and little random squeezes of frosting. Place bride and groom on top along with any other decorations.
