Double 8" cakes make up body, double 6" cakes (both yellow butter) make up head. Wings are white chocolate (6"), antennae licorice.
- RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

- Butter cakes are basic recipe including butter, cake flour (sifted), sugar, salt. Frosting is a family butter cream recipe. Wings are melted green and white chocolate with melted white chocolate painted on to show shine. Antennae are black licorice.
Bake two 8" cakes. Bake 2 6" cakes. Make buttercream frosting. Color with Lemon Yellow coloring. Use star tip to frost entire cake (both 8 and 6") in yellow. Use toothpick to mark black stripes. Star tip black stripes. Make face of bee with black. Melt green chocolate (actually white chocolate colored green) and some white chocolate to get correct green color. Pour into two 6" cake pans sprayed with non-stick spray. Freeze for several hours. Melt small amount of just white chocolate. Use pastry brush to paint on the "shine" marks. Stick solid wings into cake. Frost buzzing line behind bee with black frosting.
