Birthday cake for two brothers ages 16 & 17. Highschool mascot is Bulldog. A double 12" cake topped with a double 8" cake carved in shape of bulldog.
Cakes are basic yellow butter cakes with ingredients including butter, sifted cake flour, sugar. Frosting is family buttercream recipe.
Bake two 12 inch cakes. Bake two 8" cakes. Make buttercream frosting.
Frost entire 12" cake (including frosting in between 2 cakes and stack) in white (uncolored) buttercream frosting. Place frosting inbetween two 8" cakes and stack them. Then carve into shape of bulldog. Color some frosting with red (first use some blue then red, it will help produce a deeper red) and some with yellow. Place carved 8" bulldog onto 12" frosted cake.
Using black colored frosting, outline face of bulldog. Using star tip (#16) star the sides of bulldog in white. Using same tip, star the red features and then yellow. Using a flat tip (#47), make paw prints. Write names and message. Using round tip(#4), make circles in alternating red/yellow.
