Great Cake Contest

my son's first birthday was a Baby Einstien theme so I made him a matching caterpillar cake.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

• 1 chocolate box cake mix
• 1 strawberry box cake mix
• 1 vanilla box cake mix
• 3 tubs of vanilla icing
• food coloring.

1. I first baked according to box instructions two 9 inch round chocolate cakes. Then I baked 1-9 inch round strawberry cake, and 1 9 inch round vanilla cake, and 6 vanilla cupcakes.

2. Next I colored 1/4 of the icing yellow, 1/4 blue, 1/4 green, and the remaining 1/4 pinkish red.

3. I iced the vanilla cake and 4 of the cupcakes yellow. Then I iced the strawberry cake and the remaining two cupcakes pink. I iced 1 of the chocolate cakes green adn the last blue. I then assembeled the cakes and cupcakes to look like the caterpillar on the invitations. I added the face and writing with gel icing.
