A guitar brownie (oreo brownies) designed after a Gibson SG (my nephews guitar) for his 13th birthday, he does not like cake, so it is a brownie :)

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 pound unsalted butter
  • 1 pound semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 6 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 of a package of oreo's
  • buttercream icing
  • 10 Junior mints
  1. Preheat the oven to 350ðF. Use a non-stick baking spray on your pan of choice (for this design I used a winston guitar pan...but a 9' by 11' should work fine)

  2. In a double boiler, heat butter, semisweet and unsweetened chocolate until melted. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, vanilla, and sugar. Blend slightly chocolate mixture into egg mixture; cool to room temperature.

  4. I another bowl, sift together 1 cup flour, baking powder, and salt. Add flour mixture to chocolate mixture.

  5. In a small bowl, stir chopped Oreos and remaining 1/4 cup flour. Add Oreos to chocolate mixture. Pour batter into prepared baking pan and smooth top.

  6. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted to center comes out clean. BEWARE OF BAKING TOO LONG AND MAKING BROWNIES DRY!

  7. Decorate using buttercream icing and a star shaped tip of any size (it all depends on the amount of time you are willing to spend :) ) The buttons were done using junior mints.
