Question of the Day

A Delaware school suspended a 6-year-old for bringing his new fork-spoon-knife camping utensil in to eat lunch. Is that being crazy or careful?

Perhaps a one day suspension and the parents notified. No violence was intended and the parents probably didn't realize he had taken the camp knife to school.

That is crazy should of got it from him and called his parents. Suspending him was doing a little to much.

I think that it was being crazy, the utensil should have been taken and the parent contacted. the utensil should have been returned to the parent, but we all have gotten something new and couldn't wait to show it...

Im a vice principal in elementary school. He clearly didn't threaten anyone, It's crazy.

I think thats crazy! He should of just been warned nicely and had a courtesy call to his parents telling them to be a little more careful next time. Poor kid.

crazy, first offence should not be suspension. he and his parents should get a warning because of the knofe attached.

It's being careful! These days you can never be to cautious. I don't think they are necessarily afraid of the child stabbing someone but that someone could potentially get hurt.

That is crazy. How could the child know he was not allowed to bring something like that to school. A simple warning would of been the better approach to this situation.

That's plain out crazy !! The kid just wanted to use his new stuff and maybe someone special gave it to him.
