How Tech-Savvy Are You?

Perpetually Plugged-In
From shopping and banking to staying in touch, you always take advantage of the latest technology to keep organized and connected. Don't forget, though, that while technology provides convenience and flexibility, it can also add up to a lot of brain-clutter. Too much time in front of screens can lead to health problems, too, from strained eyesight to obesity. Even if it's only half an hour, set aside some time each day to disconnect from email, your mobile phone, TV, video games, and everything else that beeps, buzzes, or blinks. Instead, focus entirely on your family and yourself. What's your ideal digital downtime? Maybe it's during dinner, so you can talk about the day without interruption. Or perhaps it's before you turn in for the night: Sleep-disorder experts recommend powering down at least 15 minutes before bedtime, to help you unwind, clear your mind and transition into sleep. In an emergency, of course, your devices will always be readily available. But adding a little disconnect to your day may ultimately help you appreciate your on-time even more.
