Retired Rides
August 01, 2009
What retired ride do you miss most, what was it about that ride that makes you wish they hadn't retired it? I miss the good ol' people mover. Don't ask me why it is something I remember from my first time at Disneyland and always had to get on it whenever we went. I am sad that my little ones will never see it.

What do you miss most?

Its been a while since I've been there so I'm not sure which rides have been retired. Do they still have the bumper cars. Those are my favorite! :)

Let's see I think this is the list of retired rides:

Submarine Voyage (1959-1998)
Country Bear Jamboree/Playhouse (1971-2001)
Skyway (1956-1994)
Peoplemover (1967-1995)
America Sings (1974-1988)
Rocket Rods (1998-2000)
Captain EO (1986-1997)
Motor Boat Cruise (1957-1993)
Swiss Family Treehouse (1962-1999)

If it is missing anything please add it to the list!

For me, it's Captain EO. "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" just isn't as entertaining. I hope a new featue is shown soon.

I miss them all, but my vote would definitely go to the Skyway. I use to love watching the magic unfold from above and who can forget going through the Matterhorn and coming out in a whole other land. It provided us with picturesque views and I wish it was still around so my little ones could experience the same magic from above.

The Skyway was the second thing I ever rode at the park when I was a kid and I remember thinking it was the most amazing thing, especially coming out of the Matterhorn!

I miss the People Mover too, it was my "get off your feet and relax" ride..

I totally miss Bear Country Floridas is NOT the same.
I miss America Sings
Mission to Mars
And what was the one that was where Star Tours is now, that you were in little buggies like haunted mansion and you would go through a microscope and shrink... it was a science something I think.

I think that was Honey I Shrunk the Kids and my brothers loved that ride! The People Mover was awesome too, it will be missed.

I would have to say Captain EO, and with Micheal's passing I really miss it now. Also I cannot understand why in the world did Disney have to take away the Country Bears. I was so looking forward to showing my kids this attraction, but sadly I will just have to show them through old home videos from when I was a child.

I know the Country Bears were awesome, I wanted them to see them like I did as a child but now can only show them pictures of what once was. Maybe one day they will bring them back or something similar!

No? Counrty Bears? That is sad, I guess you will have to visit Disney World's Magic Kingdom. The show is still going on there. It would Be nice to see Captain EO. I miss Mr. Toads Wild Ride(MK), that's " progress" for you.
