Disney Birthdays
FamilyHost_Kristina - January 13, 2009
There are so many things to do when it is your birthday. When going to the park the options become almost endless. Disney now has a free entry on your birthday if you register through 2009 http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/WhatWillYouCelebrate/disneyland/index?name=CelebrationsDLRFreeOnYourBirthdayPage

For our daughter's birthdays when at the park we went and did the birthday party with Pat E. Cake and got to decorate our own cakes and take pictures with Mickey and Minnie. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/fr_CA/moreMagic/specialOccasions/detail?name=BirthdaysDetailPage It is at the Plaza Inn inside the park. The girls loved it and it has become our tradition now to take them there when we go.

I posted a picture of my youngest getting ready to go in for her party, she had such a great time! What has been your thing to do on your birthday while at the park?

I have spent many fond birthdays at the park as well as getting engaged at Snow White's wishing well and many anniversaries since then ( we always kiss at the well every time we are at DL). Most recently January 9, it was our Daughters B-day. We have passes so she gets different options. Either a pass for a day that is blocked out, a fast pass for up to 5 people in her party on select rides or a gift card equal to her ticket price, $59. Of course she got the gift card. But the day was just fun. Cast members and even some strangers wished her Happy Birthday every where, some even called out a birthday greeting while we were on the ride and in motion. When she bought a collectors pin they would trade with her and some cast members thought she was really something special and just gave her one and would hand her a button too. The most special thing was 2 cast members really took the time to talk to her. I had made a shirt of my daughter holding a foot of her hair that she had cut off for her birthday to donate to locks of love. Something she has always wanted to do and something so unselfish. I couldn't be prouder. The cast members read her shirt and complimented her and told her how wonderful she was and my daughters reply was: We need to give in order to recieve. This came out of my 8 year old. I was stunned just as much as the cast members were. They marveled at her and I thought I was going to burst with pride. That will be my everlasting favorite memory of DL even more so than the day I got engaged there, although it is a pretty funny story. Now we will be going back for my birthday January 30. See you there ?!

My daughter just loved the Pat E. Cake party too! It was so much fun! We made sure to order the extra bucket (princess of course!). If you go for a birthday make sure to stop at an information center to get your "It's my Birthday" sticker! Everyone says "Happy Birthday" and makes sure to give the birthday person a really special day! Is there a better place to be on your birthday than the Happiest Place on Earth??? Not for our family!!!

We got the birthday button and they still have it. They both wore them for the three days we were there lol. It was great. The party was great and we got the buckets and they had such a great time it was perfect.

Spoonful you have such an amazingly thoughtful child, that is wonderful! I bet you couldn't be prouder. And I am sure the cast members will not forget such a child either! I would love to go on the 30th but I am trying to be good and wait until we go in April like planned.... easier said than done.

We haven't made it for a birthday in years, and it doens't look promising for this year either.... but we do have our anniversary buttons and honeymoon ones too from Disneyworld. I THINK we have our daughters my first trip button. Those buttons are FABULOUS,. I am one of those people who will wish you a happy birthday button if I see you wearing one.... Hey its Disney! The only place where strangers can have a chat like old friends just to pass the time in line.... I love it.

My last birthday, we went to Minnie's Breakfast in the park. I got a pin that said it's my birthday and everyone wished me a happy birthday. It was wonderful.

You are so right, everyone said happy birthday to my girls it was so great. Strangers, cast members and all those we passes or were with in line. They felt like celebrities which was a great added bonus! Well until the "It's my birthday why do we have to wait in line" sunk in to the heads.......then it turned into a long rest of the day lol.

We went to Disney on my daughters birthday and she got a button. They wrote her name on the button, so everyone wished her happy birthday and called her by name. She loved it!

I know isn't the button just the coolest thing? And that is such a gorgeous picture! And the glasses are adorable.
