Fantasy Huggers
AlexisMezzetti - February 19, 2009
I have heard this new term, "Fantasy Hugger" for a person who is totally obsessed with Disney World. I thought it was hilarious! It started because I am an avid Disney-goer and I go at least once a year. My travel partners say I know the streets of Orlando and my way around the parks better than I do my own city! Do you think you may be considered a fantasy hugger?

I know I must be! Although I don't go once a year(wish I could). I am a fantasy hugger because I fell in love with Disney World as a child and never forgot how it felt. I went twice as a little girl and then waited impatiently for 16 LONG years before returning with my own kids. As we walked up to the Magic Kingdom that day I saw Mickey and Minnie standing in front of the park entrance and knew that it would be as good as I remembered it. And it was better! We went back again two years later and will go again as often as we can while my kids are young. I want them to be "Fantasy Huggers" too.

My whole family must be - our friends often ask us for travel advice/ info since we are such DisneyWorld "pros" My older daughters were so proud of themselves when they no longer need the map to get around :) WE like to have seasnola passes, since we live in South Florida - but haven't ben able to swing it the last couple of years - but there haven't been too many years since my kids were born that we haven't visited WDW at least once!

I often end up offering help to other visitors who seem lost or confused in the parks when we're there and have been mistaken for a cast member (I WISH!) on more than one occasion - lol

Wow, to see Mickey and Minnie at the very entrance to the park! That's such a nice way to start your visit.

That's so thoughtful of you to help out your fellow Disney visitors. It can be so overwhelming when you first walk in, it's great to have a kind person help you find your way. =)

I think my family falls into the fantasy hugger category. I love disney and everything about it. My kids ask daily when our next trip will be and cry when the answer is longer than "tomorrow." They listen the disney parks CD and say, oh I loved that ride or Can Hannah (little cousin) ride on that one? I find Disney World to be so magical!

My family and I are also Fantasy Huggers. We eat, sleep and drink Disney World. Our friends call us for travel tips all the time. We even found out our local ice cream shop sells Pineapple Dole whip, so we can get our fix in between trips. YUM!!! We visit every year, and as soon as we get home from one trip we plan the next trip.

I too am a "Fantasy Hugger". Great term for those of us that wish to embrace fantasy with no other place than Walt Disney World. I live far and it's not easy to go every year. Since 2004 this year will be my 3rd trip. 2004 was my 1st time there and I fell in love with the place. Now my friends ask me to help them plan their vacations as I tend to know quite a bit about WDW.

I am, without question, a "Fantasy Hugger" and so are my boys. Both ask daily when can we go or "the next time I want to do..." They also both want to work at Walt Disney World when they get older. My daughter and I argue over "whose" castle (mine or her's), it is on the tv/movie when Cinderella's castle is in the opening shot of a movie.
And I, like several others who posted, am the Disney tour guide for our friends as they plan their trips. I LOVE IT!!!!

We definitely are!! We have even brainwashed our toddler. At 19 months she knows all her princesses, main Disney friends, and Pixar buddies too! We are ambassadors to Walt Disney World...at least in our own minds!

We can't wait for our little one's first trip to the world on Nov. By them she will be an expert too. She is learning her countries using an Epcot map. I love bringing others over to the "Magical" side. I am loving the term "fantasy hugger" now I have a new way to describe my Disney Obsession.

ABSOLUTELY AND PROUD OF IT!!! If given the chance to take a vacation anywhere, we would always pick Disney! My sister in law thinks I'm insane and yes has used the word "obsessed" many times when describing my relationship with Disney. My children and the rest of my family are equally obsessed.
