With the H1N1 virus sweeping through the country some schools are opting to close for a few days to a week to see if that makes a difference. Other schools are canceling large gatherings of kids (such as parties and dances) as well as field trips and other non-essential outings. Has anything changed in your kids' schools? Not acceptable?
I was speaking to a second grade teacher who said that she has started being more diligent about having the kids wash their hands after meals or any other time. She keeps a big supply of the waterless anti-bacterial hand liquid. Not acceptable?

That anti-bacterial hand liquid has become quite the hot item! I wish I'd invested in companies that make them. Washing hands really is the first line of defense and while it used to be that kids were told to wash before they eat and after using the bathroom, it's great that teachers are encouraging washing at other times in the school day. The school district my son is in finally is seeing declining absences, though a few of my son's friends do currently have the flu. Not acceptable?
