We usually do the outside lights the weekend after halloween. I am not sure where you live but we live in Canada and any time after that the temperature will drop with piles of snow. As for inside I am already done, Our thanksgiving is in the begining of October so there is no mix up of holidays. We are going away this year so we have an artificail tree but i usually get my real tree about the 2nd week of december and pray it stays alive till christmas. But i do all the other decorations mid november
