Shine for the Holidays

LED Christmas Lights
CitznFish - November 18, 2008
I have seen these at various hardware stores but I'm not sure how they woul dlook on a home. Does anyone have any experience with these? Any pictures of your home lit up with the new LED lights? I read that Kmart has these for $5.99 a set right now. Lowes had them for $8 when Iw as there over the weekend. Home Depot offered $3 off a $9.99 pakage if you brought in your old lights for an exchange.

I do not have any pictures yet seeing I bought them last year on clearance but I did plug them in to see how they looked and they are brighter than regular lights. They are also supposed to save you money, time will tell :)

We invested in LED lights from Costco last year. I like to leave my outside lights on for a long time so I was looking for something that would require a lot less energy.

They were great! The colors were really vibrant and looked awesome. (I'm a multi-colored light person. The white lights were a little bluish.) I can't seem to find a picture of our house, but I'll definitely take one this year.

Here is a picture of a lights display that a local church put on. They used LEDs last year and it was amazing.

Wow, that picture looks amazing! I wish I had the willingness to put that many lights up. As it is I just do the outline of my house and a few things in the front window...

i have led lights on my tree only. they are amazingly beautiful. they are brighter and twinkle more than the older style. the one drawback i have found is that when you are sitting down and looking at your tree you may have to turn a light upwards or downwards because if it is pointed directly at you it is quite bright. i will, as my other strands die out be replacing them with led lights. oh, and i have only been decorating in white lights in the windows and white and red on the tree. may put some extra strands of color up IN the kids room this year. they would love that. sorry, no pictures

Sounds beautiful! I only have red and green lights on my tree. I would really love to have a snow flake theme for outdoors. Maybe blue and white mixed, I think that would be beautiful!

Those are about the going prices right now for the LED lights. I was going to buy some more to have enough to trim the outside but I will wait and see if I can catch a few more boxes on clearance after Christmas like I did last year.

Update: I just bought some LED lights on clearance. They did not have enough left to make it around the whole house but at least I got the majority of the lights :)

Did anyone get good deals on LEDs in after-Christmas sales? I couldn't find ANY on sale, but I did find a lot of the old-school lights on clearance.
