Color Scheme
FamilyHost_Pia - 3 weeks ago
I usually go for the traditional color schemes but I think I want to change it up a bit this year! A friend of mine told me to focus on the color scheme in and outside of my home but I am having a hard time making this work! I guess I have to many color schemes, lol. What color scheme will will you go with for this holiday season?

I can't really be torn away from the red, green, and gold scheme that I go with. It's so versatile. I can keep that color scheme throughout but dress it up or down as the mood hits me. It's more formal in my living room, more casual in other parts of the house.

I think the red and green is just the best! It ads some warmth and is so cheery...to me anyway :)

One year I wanted a very winter wonderland tree, but I didn't want that to be our family tree. So in my upstairs hall, we got a 4 foot tree and I did it all up in a purple, blue and silver type decorations with white lights. It was pretty but didn't feel "homey". If I had a house with many different rooms, I might have put it in a guest room or something.

Oh, I bet it was beautiful! I do understand about it not being 'homey' though! One year I had the whole house in blue, silver and white and while it was very pretty, it was also very 'cold' looking. I think this year I will try and create a gingerbread theme :)

We have a color scheme of red, green, gold and silver but we also have some blues in our decorations. We aren't quite as strict on the color scheme as we are on the theme of our decorations. Our decorations are for the kids. Lollie pops, candy canes, santa claus, snowmen, nutcrackers, reinbeer, elves and gum drops. We want it to be magical for our kids and to be honest, for ourselves too.
