R & R
FamilyHost_Meredith - June 14, 2009
I can remember my parents having date nights, but I can't say I remember them ever taking a trip by themselves. Of course, if they had, I would've been with my grandparents - and figured that was more fun anyway. So maybe I just wasn't paying attention. ;-)

Trips away can give parents such a needed recharge - no kids menus, no waking up at the crack of dawn, no worrying about getting back in time for the babysitter. Just being together and doing what THEY want to do.

Have you ever had an R & R trip with your spouse? Tell us how you find the Romance & Relaxation.

Hubby and I have date nights just not as often as we would like. It's just not easy finding a sitter that we can trust. We do take advantage of the time after the kids go to bed. It's the only time we have to ourselves to just chat and enjoy each other without distractions. A trip away even if it's only overnight sounds great and is something I think I'll have a chat with hubby about. Our twins are 3 so I think they can handle mommy and daddy being away for a little while.

That's great that you and your husband utilize the free moments that you can find.

Guys tend to focus on career above all else, and need reminders from time to time. Does he know how much you feel you need some time together? Remember, guys don't read minds very well...not at all in fact. Maybe you need to just set him down and have a little heart to heart to get him back on track on what is really important.

Excellent advice, BroncosDad. Just think how much easier life would be for you boys if only you HAD been born with that mind-reading ability! ;-)
