Grand Lake is in eastern Oklahoma. It is a great place for fishing, for camping, for water sports. There are bass tournaments galore, and many resorts. My favorite place is Grove, OK, a small town on the lake that has a great deal of charm. It's a great place to take a road trip to.

Oh we've got it all. Washington, DC is just 20 minutes down the road. Baltimore with its fun Inner Harbor and cool Aquarium is about 45 minutes away. We've got Appalachian Mountains to the west and the Chesapeake Bay to the east. There are SO many things to do in our neck of the woods.

Palo Dura Canyon near Amarillo, TX is a great Southwest place for a road trip, especially if you're a geologist! It's very family oriented and had all kinds of activities.

There's also a place near Bartlesville, OK called Woolaroc. It is out in the country and is the home/property of the Phillips family of the Phillips Petroleum company. There is an amphitheater, a really good western type museum of artifacts, and great grounds. There are a lot of concerts and special events, including Halloween, Christmas and other holidays. You could google Woolaroc for more information.
