I love homemade potato soup! It is absolutely my favorite. It takes time to make, but it really is worth it. I'd like to find a good chicken tortilla soup recipe as I enjoy that when I go out to eat. Another sound I want to find a recipe for is a Manhattan clam chowder.

oh yeah i love potatoes so versatile i love chicken tortilla soup as well when we lived in ca i could get it all the time not so much here in tn so i make a home version i make chicken soup in the crock pot add lime juice you need to be careful if you use real limes the skins make the soup bitter and then i add my choice of chips spicy chips work the best for me because then i do not have to add allot of spice to the soup and the kids still love it they do not always like it when i add the spice directly into the soup B)

I really enjoy soups so I have a hard time picking just one. My grandmother used to make a potatoe soup that was awesome. Unfortunately she never passed on the recipe to anyone. My mother in law makes a chicken soup that is amazing. I've had really good luck making cheese soups and cream based tomato soups.

was her soup thick or soupy ... I cut my potatoes all the same size..then I put just enough water to cover I boil in salted water for 25 to 30 or untill the potatoes are cooked then I take plain flour a couple of tbls and mix in some cold milk to get the lumps out, pour in some half-n-half or milk, butter, salt and pepper to taste.cook untill you get the flour taste out this is a thicker soup if I was to make this a thinner soup I would just add some chicken stock or veggie stock if you dont eat meat....I even add broc , bacon, or ham to my soup its really good

I love so many kinds of soup but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Maryland Crab soup .... I start with a beef based broth, add tomatoes and a bag of vegetables for soup. I then add the crab meat and some spicy Old Bay seasoning and simmer. I can smell it simmering now!

The potato soup was more thick than thin. I remember she used heavy cream, milk and flour just like you do. I think she also added onion to her base, but that was about it. She would also put in fresh green beans from her garden if it was in season. I'd love to have your recipe if you don't mind.

I love soup and make it once a week once the weather cools down. It's a great frugal meal and you can use up leftovers or stretch your food dollar with it!

One of my favorite soups is this Meatball Soup:

I love all the textures and flavors, it's very complex!
