Our pets capture our hearts on a daily basis. Let's share photos of them, and tips on how to get a good shot of them. Here's a pic of my dog, Quigley. I need to get him to sit long enough for the double flash to work so that he does not have red eye. How do you get around the red eye problem?

So why is your aquarium fishless, BroncosDad? I know that if I had one, it'd be fishless as I am notorious for accidentally killing fish by overfeeding or underfeeding them. I have the worst luck with fish, but love looking at them in the waiting room of my dr.

So, BroncosDad, do you have a virtual aquarium? I had one once and it was fish and dolphins, which I love! The motor broke, I was crushed!

Cheryl, in my experience the pre flash does not always work on animals! Don't ask me why, my husband could probably give us some techno bab, but he's working! If you want to scrapbook pics of adorable Quigley - scrapbook stores sell Red Eye pens for both humans and animals. If you can't fix the red eye on the computer, the pen helps with the actual print!
Here is a pic of my youngest son's pet turtle, Louise. Not the clearest picture, but I was trying to show how her next S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-S out when she hunts for her food! When his teacher asked me if he could have a turtle, I never dreamed it was an aquatic turtle! This girl is 13 yrs old.

Cheryl, Louise is bigger than the palm of my hand and I wear Lg or XL gloves!!! I don't know if 13 is old. I'll have to do some research! I've heard about the turtle disease/illness. We just make sure to watch hands after handling her when we wash her tank!

Wow! Louise is a good-sized turtle. I'd love to see a closer photo of her shell. I always thought those were pretty.

oh she's beautiful..i used to have 2 red earred sliders..they were a little bigger than her..romeo was just her size and juliet was bigger by about a dinner plate..they were only 7 when we decided that they had to have a much bigger home and a lot more food than we could supply..they were eatting us out of pet store and home!!..i would put them out in the back yard in the summer in a small pool..we had a baby snapper also..he was so darn cute..but i'm afraid a hawk took off with him..so we would only have them out when we were out

any type of reptile or amphibian creature carries the salmonella virus on their skin ans so after handling you must wash your hands thoroughly..as long as you do that you have nothing to worry about..unfortunately most parents do not supervise their children with these type of pets and also do not even wash their own hands after handling reptilian pets..its a shame for those of us that are responsible

Excellent question. I had fish at one time. I had a bulb go out and didn't put the right one back. essentially, I boiled my goldfish. I also observed that having fish tends to pollute the tank. I really like the light and the water and everything, so I just decided to not replace the fish, and its worked out OK. It's attractive, VERY low maintenance, and I can leave for a week and not worry about it being taken care of.
